Why Watershed?
“Watershed” refers to the fantastic and simultaneous rise of China and India, undoubtedly the turning point in current global affairs. The political assertiveness, economic muscle and cultural influence place these countries in the forefront and prove the importance of getting to know them better and in greater depth.

An independent company which generates its own, exclusive and free access content as well as develop projects related to China and India in the areas of International Relations, Economics and Culture.
Positioning
We are Brazil´s hub for Chinese and Indian affairs and our motto is Building knowledge, connecting people.
Conception and launching
The conception of Watershed has begun in August 2008, based on the fact that few Brazilian institutions were covering China and India according to their prominence. Watershed was launched in August 2009, only in Portuguese, with a team of 9 columnists.
Languages
From March 2010 on, the content began to be published in English, in order to reach a global audience. Some articles are published in Portuguese, so as to embolden Brazil´s emerging on the world stage. To incentivize the learning of Hindi and Mandarin, some columns also offer versions in these languages.

Watershed Brazilian and foreign columnists are based in Beijing, Campinas, Islamabad, Istanbul, Lisbon, London, Mumbai, New Delhi, São Paulo, Shijiazhuang, Taipei, Uberlândia and Washington, DC.
Target audience
Specialists, journalists, business people, government and NGO representatives, as well as students in the areas of International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Sociology, Diplomacy, History, Geography, Security & Defence, Law and Journalism.
Projects
- W.Books: paid e-books to be published by Watershed (1st semester of 2011).
- W.Courses: paid courses organised by Watershed in partnership with the National Federation of International Relations Students. Launched in August 2010.
- W.Job Centre: a new project to connect talent, expertise and working demands. For students and professionals to publish CVs. For companies, to publish job positions.
- W. Social Project: PhD Mobilization or Mutirões PhD aims to embolden thinking and learning capabilities, as well as to stimulate passion for knowledge among 14 to 17 year old students with poor access to formal education and information. To be launched in 2012.
